Helpful Session Information

If you have any specific questions or requests that are not covered here, please let me know! I'll be happy to accomodate you in every way possible.

What can I expect from my session?

Location shoots generally run about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Your satisfaction is the reason we're here, so if we need more time we'll take it! Senior sessions, weddings and special events will, of course, have differring time frames.

I'll arrive at your chosen location in time to set up any necessary equipment and tend to possible last-minute details that may arise. We'll take several photos in as many poses as time allows. You are welcomed to have clothing changes or special groupings (you and your children, seniors and their freinds, the family pets, etc.) during your session. Location shoots can be done in posed fashion, or you may choose a more relaxed, "candid" approach. We'll tailor your session to your tastes.

What to wear?

Your portrait session is designed to be enjoyable and capture your unique personality. The following tips are a simple guide to help ensure that your images reflect the look you expect.

When choosing clothing for your portrait session, keep in mind that busy patterns or bright, flamboyant colors may actually up-stage you in your portraits. Solid colors in flattering tones are more desirable; you want your portraits to be about you, not just your clothing! Also consider the fact that the eye is drawn to fleshtones. Clothing that reveals arms and legs can actually distract the veiwer from your face. Ladies should wear makeup that is natural for best portrait results.

If we're doing a group session, it's best to select matching or complimentary colors for everyone in the group. Several differing colors or material patterns can cause confusion and won't result in effective, pleasing images. If little ones will be a part of your session, it's wise to bring along extra clothing for those inevitable "ooopsies".

What should I bring?

You are always encouraged to personalize your portrait session by including things that reflect the "real" you. Please feel free to bring along special props, even the family dog! Seniors are encouraged to bring such things as team clothing, items that depict a hobby (guitar, shoe collection, whatever says, "this picture is about me"), even your car. Friends are also invited to sit for a portrait with you, if you wish.

Mom's may wish to bring along tissues or wet wipes, as well as an extra change of clothing for the little ones. Ladies may also want to bring along some makeup and a brush for those quick touch-ups.
